My name is Eliot. I am new to Planeta. This last year some friends and I started a multi-faceted reforestation project in southwestern Costa Rica. Our project is called the Finca Project. Our project has two main focuses: 1) small-scale tropical reforestation
2) multi-cultural, environmental education.
While the main focus of our project is educating high school age children from around the world on issues of the global environment and improtance of tropical rainforests, we are also aiding this community (Aguabuena) create a sustainable eco-tourism industry to off-set the financial difficulties created by the world coffee market.
We are very interested in learning from others and networking to unite around social and environmental concerns. Check us out at
www.fincaproject.org and our blog www.fincaproject.blogspot.com. |
