Civic Tourism III: "Helping Diverse Interests Work Towards a Common Community Goal." The third national Civic Tourism conference will be held in Fort Collins, Colorado, August 11-14, 2010. For a program overview and other information please visit http://www.interpnet.com/civic. For more information about Civic Tourism in general, visit http://www.civictourism.org.
With current political disasters in Arizona that will affect tourism significantly (immigration law boycott), not to mention natural disasters in the Gulf of Mexico, which will affect place-based tourism even more in those states, this conference will look at how the tourism community can and should work with other community partners -- environmental groups, political players, cultural agencies, preservationists, etc. -- to help re-imagine a more sustainable and responsible approach to travel and tourism.
