Steve Bridger created this blog to document the long-term story of Cancun and the Riviera Maya getting back on its feet after being devastated by Hurricane Wilma. Pages are updated with first-hand reports from the region and a photo feed of beaches and resorts using the Flickr photo-sharing community.
In the first week ten weeks online, afterwilma has logged visits from more than 10,000 people from 62 countries and generated 52,000 page views (as of February 20, 2006).
The exceptional work won Steve the 2006 Colibri Ecotourism Award
